Would it've been cool if they'd gone ahead and called this
Shaft 2000? I feel like it would've. Maybe by the year 2000 the idea that sticking
2000 on a title would make it cool was over, I dunno, but I feel like it would've worked. (And because they didn't, by this summer we'll have three movies called simply
Shaft that all actually exist in the same continuity. Madness.)
