Torchwood on the radio

As some/all readers will surely be aware, yesterday BBC Radio 4 broadcast an exclusive 45-minute full-cast Torchwood audio drama, tied in to all that fuss about "Big Bang Day" (y'know, the CERN thing).

Anyway, the drama -- which I've yet to listen to, typically -- will be released on CD next week (with a bonus feature thingy; Play.com are cheapest), but if you're snappy you can download an MP3 of it free and, importantly, legally, from Radio 4's website. Here's the Torchwood Big Bang Day page, here's a relatively similar page on the Torchwood official site, and here's the file itself.

Is the implication that *I* am "all readers"?

I haven't listened to this yet either. I probably will, eventually. The media scaremongering regarding the LHC means that I'm currently sick to death of hearing about it.

Pretty much :) If any other readers would care to step forward...

I barely watched the news, etc, the other day -- or in the days leading up to it, when any television channel above 2 seemed convinced the end of the world may genuinely have been imminent -- and I still feel over-satured by the coverage.

I can just about forgive people for believing that the collisions taking place could have harmful consequences, purely because if the newspapers are telling everyone something, people tend to believe it.

What was just an unforgivable display of ignorance was today's barrage of "The world didn't end after all!" stories. Well, considering that all they did was switch it on and test it out, and haven't actually collided anything yet... I mean, even the doom-mongering nutcases with the slightest amount of reasoning weren't expecting anything to happen yet. It seems the papers were expecting the whole world to implode the instant the machine was plugged in.

It's almost enough to make you wish the world will end when stuff gets collided, and there'd be a chance to say, "ha!", to all the idiots.
