Didn't actually manage to complete Chapter 6, despite having a couple of cracks at it. This playthrough is basically doomed now (thanks to the aforementioned corruption tracker); might play with slightly modified rules when we start over.

The Lord of the Rings: Adventure Book Game
Chapter 4: The Fellowship Splits
Before I bought this, several of the reviews I read talked about it being fairly easy. I guess that must be the case with four players (it's a 1-4 player game), because playing it with two, it took us four attempts to complete this chapter (it's reasonable to expect chapters to get more difficult as you go, but this is only halfway through) and our "corruption tracker" (which carries across chapters, and if you get to the end at any point you lose the entire game) is already 80% complete (and, as I said, we're only 50% through). Maybe we'll be luckier in the second half, but I rather suspect we're going to lose and have to start over long before the end...

Collection Count tracks my DVD/Blu-ray collection via a number of statistics every week.
Last week, I teased that there could be up to 15 new additions this week. Well, in the end there were 13. You won't see that number below, though, because two were DVD-to-BD upgrades and another was BD-to-4K.
Also worthy of note: my ever-shrinking DVD collection lands on precisely 1,000 titles. It can't be that long before it slips down into just triple figures. Feels like some kind of end of an era...

Of which Blu-rays: 2,343 [up 12]
— of which Ultra HD Blu-rays: 381 [up 3]
Number of discs in collection: 8,070 [up 24]
Number of films: 4,123 [up 16]
Number of additional cuts: 395 [up 3]
Number of TV episodes: 9,767 [up 25]
Number of short films: 1,158 [up 10]
Also, that pile of newness arrived just in time for the monthly running time update...
Total running time of collection (approx.):
566 days, 17 hours, and 44 minutes.
(Up 2 days, 15 hours, and 16 minutes from last month.)
See you next week, faithful reader, when there'll be more new additions but, overall, it'll be quieter.

This felt incredibly season-finale-y, considering it's not even close to being a finale. It's got a great climax, but most of the episode did little to sway me round to the view that the Phoenix Saga is actually as good as its reputation would suggest.
