3x08 No Mutant is an Island [2nd watch]
This episode explicitly takes place directly after the previous one and yet, when the series originally aired, they held it back and didn't broadcast it until the fifth (and final) season. I can only presume they realised it was a bit shit and only aired it when they had to…

2x50 The Endless Burrows [1st half]
Now I'm back on the Crit Role horse, I just can't stop (helps that there have been a couple of phenomenal episodes in a row). I've got a week off work coming up, and I had been intending to catch up on some of the many films I've missed of late, but I'm slightly worried I'll end up just mainlining CR all day, every day for a week.

this week on 100Films.co.uk
No new reviews were published to 100Films.co.uk this week, but we're midway through the opening days of the month — midway because I've posted only the first half of my pair of monthly posts: the monthly review of August...
More next Sunday. Or you could just check out 100Films.co.uk tomorrow for what will likely be the week's only post, your choice.

2x48 Homeward Bound [2nd half]
Oh man... This was seeming like a bit of a non-event of an episode — a pleasant little transition between piratical adventures and new storylines back on land — and then the tower turned out to be super significant... and then they reached Felderwin... Whew!

Collection Count
Collection Count tracks my DVD/Blu-ray collection via a number of statistics every week.
A small challenge for my count this week: I bought Arrow's release of the Mexico Trilogy, which includes just one of the three films in 4K UHD. So is that an Ultra HD release or not? Because obviously it is... but also, like, not. Well, I've counted it below, but labelling it as 4K UHD in my database feels a little inaccurate when 66.6% of the eponymous films in the set aren't.
Anyway, there were nine new titles this week, including two DVD-to-BD and one BD-to-UHD, which altogether looks like this...
Number of titles in collection: 3,356 [up 6]
Of which DVDs: 997 [down 2]
Of which Blu-rays: 2,359 [up 8]
— of which Ultra HD Blu-rays: 385 [up 2]
Number of discs in collection: 8,095 [up 10]
Number of films: 4,139 [up 8]
Number of additional cuts: 396 [up 1]
Number of TV episodes: 9,779 [no change]
Number of short films: 1,168 [no change]
See you next week, faithful reader.

Derren Brown: Showman
Two things amazed me about this: firstly, that it was on back in April 2023 and somehow I've only just found it; and secondly, that this is the first Derren Brown programme I've watched in almost four years. I've long been a fan of his, so I don't know how I missed a new special being on; and it really doesn't feel like that long since I last watched one of his shows. Oh, and I was also amazed by all the tricks and stuff too, naturally.

Why It Matters That Marvel Comics Are Becoming Penguin Classics
by John Maher (from Publishers Weekly)
I was trying to find out if they were going to do any more volumes in the Penguin Classics Marvel Collection (no news that I can see) when I came across this interesting interview piece from when they published the second wave this time last year.

2x47 The Second Seal [2nd half]
And that's, apparently, the end of Arc 2 — which is also, coincidentally, one-third through Campaign 2. And, even more coincidentally, it marks the point where I've watched a whole year of Critical Role! It's taken me six months to get here, so there's still a long time to go...
In-story, I've found the Nein's piratical adventures considerably less exciting than I'd've hoped (though there's a brief bit of ship-on-ship action this episode that I enjoyed; would've quite liked to see more in that vein), so I'm quite glad to see them headed back to dry land.

Tarzan the Ape Man (1932)
[1st half]
I don't normally stop films halfway through (unless they're many-hour epics, maybe), but I was knackered and just had to abandon this. No fault of the film's. I'll finish it tomorrow.
